Total Party Kill is a more mature work of fiction than The Peacekeers, my other work with the same acronym. While on the surface it's a rough and tumble fantasy adventure, Total Party Kill has a lot to do with the struggles people face every day, and the trauma and baggage they carry with them. It's a story in two parts, both being told simultaneously. You meet these people after they've been through a lot already, and whether they're fresh wounds or old scars half the journey is coping and healing with this trauma.
Many of the struggles these characters face are inspired by my own life experiences, or those I've seen through the eyes of my loved ones.
This is a story from the heart.
Not the warm fuzzy parts of the heart. The parts which have seen sorrow and pain, the misfortune this world brings to those who live in it. The dark depths of the heart you want to lock away and forget. But none of us can truly forget our past, we can only look to the future.
If this story brings up something from those depths within you, something you wished had stayed forgotten, I give you my sincerest apology. I hope that perhaps you can find the healing which so many of us desparately seek. I want to say it may lie in these pages, but I can guarantee no such thing. It would probably be best to stop reading and seek help.
Now I must add, I do not endorse, encourage, or condone many of the things present in this story.
Whether it be toxic behaviors, unhealthy coping mechanisms, or criminal acts. That should go without saying, but I wanted to say it anyway.
Also, you'll find some examples of homophobia/transphobia present in this story. I myself am a bisexual transgender woman, so if you read this please know I'm not writing these moments in bad faith.
And if you're a reader who thinks these things are acceptable or are in support of them, please leave my site never to return. I do not want you in my fandom.
Some of these topics listed above have yet to fully show themselves, but have made appearances in passing so far.
There are also some topics which have not appeared yet, but will in the future. For the sake of this section, I'll jot down everything I think may be relevant going forward.
